Nancy Emde comes from a long line of motorcyclists.
Grandfather Joe Emde raced dirt track in the early 1900's and owned a motorcycle shop in southern California. Nancy's Dad, Floyd Emde is an AMA Hall of Fame racing Legend and winner of the 1948 Daytona 200. Nancy's brothers names may also sound familiar, Bob Emde, Ascot Champion in the early 60's on Harley KR's. Don Emde, winner of the 1972 Daytona 200 and Team BSA racing legend of the early '70's. Don has been a spokesman and consultant for the World of Motorcycling for many years and is currently publisher of "Parts Unlimited Magazine". Dave Emde, 1976 & 77 Formula 2 AMA National Champion.
Nancy has a few trophies in her own case. She was the Southern California Women's Dirt Track Champion for three consecutive years. Nancy has since hung up her racing leathers and traded them for off-road gear. She also worked for Kawasaki Motors and Cycle News in the late 70's to mid 80's before starting a family. Nancy has 4 children, Kelly, Shannon, Lauren, and Jeffrey, all of which share her passion for riding motorcycles
